One of the missions of the Lewis Mumford Center is to provide curricular and extracurricular resources for students interested in the study of urban issues. The graduate certificate in urban policy is a formal way for students to gain a credential as an expert in the study of urban issues. Passage of the urban comprehensive exam in the Sociology Ph.D. program is another way. The comprehensive exam list and references are available here on our website. Outside of the classroom, students can engage in the discussion of urban issues via the urban student group.
