CALL FOR PAPERS NYCAS 02

THE NEW YORK CONFERENCE ON ASIAN STUDIES

(a regional conference of the Association for Asian Studies) 

Skidmore College

Saratoga Springs, NY

October 25-26, 2002

Scholars in New York State--as well in neighboring states, Canada, and the world--are cordially invited to submit proposals for individual

papers, panels, and roundtables. Graduate student participation is especially encouraged and welcomed. 

Panels, papers, and roundtables may focus on the conference theme “Image, Imaging, & Imagination” or other aspects of East Asia, South

Asia, Southeast Asia, or Asian American Studies. Visit the conference website for suggestions of many possibilities within the conference them

 PROPOSALS ON ANY ASPECT OF ASIA AND ASIAN-AMERICAN STUDIES ARE, OF COURSE, WELCOME. 

The DEADLINE for Submission of individual papers, panels, and roundtables is April 1, 2002.On-line submission will be possible soon by

using the NYCAS '02 web site. For information on submission guidelines and conference registration, please visit our website. 

EARLY INQUIRY AND SUBMITTAL ARE ENCOURAGED. 

Updated information will appear regularly on the NYCAS '02 website. A preliminary program will be posted by May 15 and a final program will be

available during the summer.
